A Little Cabinet Shelfie Styling

Last week I shared a little peek at one corner of my home…a previously neglected corner.  This little cabinet lives in my kitchen and was just piled full of all my accessories…and was desperately in need of some styling. See what I mean?

I put together this animated gif to show you a peek at my design process!

A Cabinet Styling Animated Gif | www.theanatomyofdesign.comMuch better, right?  I picked a color palette (pretty much the only color palette I ever use) and got to work layering and layering.  My grandma has a china cabinet in her house that is stuffed full of little trinkets…it hasn’t changed in years, but I loved peering into it when I visited for Sunday dinner and looking at all the little treasures.  I wanted a similar stuffed, but styled, feeling for mine.  Here’s some close-up shots for fun.

This stripey gift wrap makes the perfect back drop! And, it’s a super inexpensive way to transform the back of any cabinet!closeup5
